| THOR MEGA SERIES Opener This Weekend | | Posted Wednesday, March 10 by Victory Sports | | | The 2010 THOR MEGA Series presented by DUNLOP gets underway March 13-14 at Muddy Creek Raceway with the traditional DUNLOP Day opener. This is always one of the largest events of the year with riders making the trip to this event from most all states north of the Mason Dixon Line since the tracks up north don’t open until later in the year.
The opening DUNLOP Tire event rewards all class champions with DUNLOP tires in addition to factory contingency, awards, and purse. Saturday is a Test & Tune practice day 9:30am til 3:30pm then early signup til 5:30. Sunday practice starts at 8:00am with racing to getting started at 9:30.
YAMAHA, KAWASAKI, SUZUKI, HUSQVARNA, and HONDA have posted factory contingency for the series for 2010. This contingency money rewards the riders for their performance and gives them help in paying for maintenance on their bikes as well as the costs of racing. With the tough economic conditions we are suffering through now, this contingency money is a breath of fresh air for the riders who earn a portion of it.
Last year Wisconsin native Brad Modjewski dominated both PRO motorcycle classes at this event. Modjewski is now transplanted and lives in Eastern North Carolina (Southern Pines area) and last year ended up winning both pro class championships in the series. Mega Series regular Kevin Walker suffered through a couple of injuries which knocked him out of contention. He is currently in Florida riding, training, and preparing for an assault on the series.
This event will also be paying points for the PIZZA PLUS Southern All-Stars Series presented by DUNLOP. This series is concentrated in Georgia with an occasional event in TN, AL, and KY. The series is built to keep travel down so more up and coming riders can get a taste of the bigger events and still compete for a nationally recognized series title.

| $631,775.00 in Factory Contingency | | Posted Friday, February 26 by Victory Sports | | | Blountville, TN, February 25, 2010 - The factories have posted their 2010 factory contingency programs and Victory Sports is happy to be able to announce that our riders will be competing for $631,775.00 in our different properties this year.
“With the economic situation that we are going through now, we are very excited that the factories are keeping our series in their budget” commented Victory Sports president Sam Gammon. “Riders are going to be looking for any help they can get in order to be able to race.” Honda, Kawasaki, Husqvarna, Suzuki, and Yamaha have posted contingency for the different series. Go to the factory websites to the the payout and classes that thy are paying.
The THOR MEGA SERIES by DUNLOP gets underway March 13-14 at Muddy Creek Raceway. This event will also pay PIZZA PLUS SAS Series points. The PARTS UNLIMITED ULTRA Series by FMF fires up the following week (March 20-21) at Iron City MX in Blacksburg, SC.
